Alexander Leibner, Founder and Managing Editor of The Sandton Times, is a highly sought-after keynote speaker, MC and moderator, bringing his expertise to local and international conferences, prestigious awards ceremonies, executive retreats, and high-level industry gatherings. With a career spanning over two decades, he has earned a reputation as a dynamic communicator, seamlessly navigating both the stage and the strategic operations behind the scenes.
As the host of The Sandton Times Hour, a well-regarded radio show and podcast, Alexander has been described by The Sunday Times as a seasoned communicator. His journey in media began as the youngest on-air talent at Rhodes Music Radio in Grahamstown. Over the years, he has contributed to some of Africa’s most influential media organizations, including Talk Radio 702, M-Net, Caxton Newspapers, CNBC Africa, Forbes Africa, and the SABC. His ability to craft compelling narratives has made him a sought-after voice in media, business, and beyond.
A prolific writer, Alexander has penned articles for Forbes Africa and Forbes Woman Africa, where his monthly column explored the intersections of technology and the future. His career highlights include hosting and producing flagship television programs, breaking major news stories on radio, and serving as a distinguished Master of Ceremonies.
His ability to engage with global leaders is underscored by his receipt of the President’s Award from the late Nelson Mandela and Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex. Alexander has worked with top-tier business and government figures, global organization heads, and cultural icons.
Among his career milestones are attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, and organizing major events featuring figures like Priyanka Chopra, Jordan “The Wolf of Wall Street” Belfort, and Naomi Campbell. Academically, he attended St. Andrew’s College in Grahamstown before earning a Bachelor of Communications degree, majoring in Marketing and Advertising, from Bond University, Australia. He furthered his education with a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from the Gordon Institute of Business Science. In 2021, he was awarded the Dean’s Scholarship for Innovation and Creativity to pursue his Executive MBA at Henley Business School Africa, which he successfully completed in 2024.
